Tiebreakers
As it pertains to seeding, our tiebreakers are as follows: Best Record Head to Head if applicable Least runs allowed Runs scored As it pertains to a single game, all pool play and non bracket advancing games can end in a tie at the end of a game by innings or time limit. All Bracket advancing games will continue to play real baseball until a winner is determined Run Rules and Time Limits In all age groups 9u through 18u, the time limit is 1 hour and 45 minutes – if we start an inning, we will finish that inning. Mercy rules are 12 after 3, 10 after 4, and 8 after 5 8u Coach Pitch has a time limit of 1 hour 30 minutes. Each team can score up to 5 runs in the first inning. We then go to a catch up plus 5 rule. There is no run rule in 8u Coach Pitch. High School Rules Fielder’s Choice Baseball LLC will play by High School rules (with the exception of our pitch count program) – balks are dead balls, any pitcher can re-enter if pulled between innings or on a first visit, etc. We will allow a team to bat a standard straight 9 line-up, or roster bat, or any combination in between. If using a DH however, a team can only bat 9. Courtesy runners must be substitutes if available – if not, utilize the last out. A single runner cannot run for both the pitcher and catcher in the same inning. If a team is batting their entire roster and a player gets injured, his spot will be declared an out everytime he misses his spot in the lineup. If his injury is severe enough whereby he cannot come back in the game, he will out the first time and then the lineup will be compressed and no additional outs will be charged. Any player in a roster bat situation who is ejected, will result in an out everytime his spot in the lineup comes up. |
Behavior – Rules Section
Fielder’s Choice Baseball LLC understands the competitive nature of sports. Sometimes in the heat of competition, we understand that periodically things are said and actions taken that are not within a player, coach, or fans normal behavior. We will have a ZERO tolerance for bad behavior. We are placing the burden on coaches to ensure that our games are played without conflict, especially as it pertains to fans. We have instructed our umpires to maintain thick skins but if a coach, player, or fan takes away from the integrity of the game we all love, they will be ejected or in a fans case, to be asked to leave the park. We reserve the right to ban teams if necessary at our sole discretion to ensure a pleasing event for all concerned. |
